My M.U.A Story (Part 1)

I was jobless. I went to makeup school (MaqPro) and took a short course in makeup artistry.

I really loved makeup since I was in high school. It brings me back to the time of our high school graduation photo and I badly wanted to have a blue eyeshadow just because my fair skinned classmate with round eyes had a cool blue eyeshadow put on her. Well, it didn't turn out the way I wanted because I am morena and my eyes are hooded and the point of having the blue eyeshadow made no sense.

In our church, we have an image ministry who takes care of stage makeup for those who are serving in the praise and worship team every Sunday. I signed up for it and that's where i continue to hone my skills and interest in makeup artistry while waiting for a big break. They provided our supplies and sometimes I also bring my own kit if I am not feeling lazy.

Below are some of my work in the past year.

When i went gaga over highlighter but that is basically her best feature aside from having amazing skin! What can I do but to put emphasis on it...

I had fun working on her deeper skintone and deep set eyes. Btw, it was her first day to lead the praise and worship that day. Unforgettable for both of us!

Natural makeup for a stage makeup is a challenge. Sometimes, I just don't want to go overboard just because it is stage makeup. The stage is not always dark and they are projected in HD so heavy is really heavy.

It was really a great opportunity for me to serve in the church and at the same time enhance my skills in this artistry. In my next blog, I will share a few more of my experiences in the makeup artistry for the past year. It is almost 2 years when I finished the training and it has been a great learning indeed!
