Oosilk Pillowcase Review

Image
In most days, I wake up finding so much hair on my pillow. I did not realize that I was losing that much hair until I found a bald spot on my hair one day. I went to the doctor to have it checked and was treated for alopecia areata with some steroids. I grew it back but I knew that it is just temporary solution. I learned about silk bonnets and silk pillowcases in my curly hair reference website before I discovered my bald spot. It took me some time to buy that suggestion. I did not believe it at first. I then searched for a few other remedies to avoid hair shedding. I learned about biotin and pointed me back to silk pillowcases. I searched online where I could get the silk pillowcase but most are expensive or not shipping to my country. I found the website seeyoutomorrow but it was around 69sgd per pillowcase. I went to Takashimaya SG and found a very soft silk pillowcase worth 100sgd!!! I searched again and found oosilk. I thought silk pillowcase is same as cotton ...

Hair Spa Saturday

Last Saturday, I had an all natural hair spa and it contains the following: Almond Oil Coconut Oil Olive Oil Castor Oil (if all oils above are 10ml, i only had this for 5ml because this oil is very thick) As I have been shedding a lot of hair, I have tried this concoction recommended by a friend. I did this in the morning and I let it stay for about an hour or two then i rinsed it with Apple Cider Vinegar. It was supposed to be washed with baking soda as No-Poo clarifying shampoo but I didn't have Baking Soda in stock. My husband was looking for Baking Soda few days back so I went to grocery and bought a box of arm & hammer. I will try using this next time to wash the homemade hot oil treatment. Days have passed (it's already Monday!) and My hair is still incredibly soft! It has not been so oily or frizzy so far and I am liking the result. I just hope that this will be a more natural way of treating my alopecia. I will be updating on the progress and uploading ...

My M.U.A Story (Part 1)

I was jobless. I went to makeup school (MaqPro) and took a short course in makeup artistry.  I really loved makeup since I was in high school. It brings me back to the time of our high school graduation photo and I badly wanted to have a blue eyeshadow just because my fair skinned classmate with round eyes had a cool blue eyeshadow put on her. Well, it didn't turn out the way I wanted because I am morena and my eyes are hooded and the point of having the blue eyeshadow made no sense.  In our church, we have an image ministry who takes care of stage makeup for those who are serving in the praise and worship team every Sunday. I signed up for it and that's where i continue to hone my skills and interest in makeup artistry while waiting for a big break. They provided our supplies and sometimes I also bring my own kit if I am not feeling lazy. Below are some of my work in the past year. When i went gaga over highlighter but that is basically her best feature aside...

The beginning of something new

Here I am again... Reviving my blog and thinking of what great things I could share here. I have thought for some time what subject would I share in my blog. I thought I wanted travel, food, movies, books and lifestyle. However, things change, our preferences and priorities change and so our taste. For so many years, I proved one thing - I still love to write and blog. I want to express my thoughts and feelings in a blog just like a diary. The difference maybe is being formal and make sure that my readers would benefit from whatever they would read here and not just junk and random ramblings. I may have these in my blog from time to time but I definitely would like people especially the internet people to learn more and be informed. At the same time, an avenue for me to learn something new based on the comments and suggestions I may receive in the succeeding articles. For now, I would be talking about makeup and beauty stuff because I believe these two subject always held my interest...
